Patients are confronted with mountains of information when they are discharged from a surgical procedure or even after they leave a routine doctor’s appointment. Healthcare professionals manage patient health from patient to patient, but patients must manage their health every hour of every day.
Our work in patient self-management starts with understanding challenges through the eyes of a patient. Some projects require a reframing of the problem. Some build upon existing research. We have worked with doctors and nurses to identify what information is most useful to capture between appointments and worked with patients on how to capture it quickly and easily. We use our expertise in designing for behaviors to build triggers for change.
